Make Time

As I write this today, I realise the mistake I've made a second time. I don't know how this happens but I do know it's not good. Why do people (myself included) tend to turn away from the very things that give them peace? Why is it always so easy to simply stop doing what makes us happy and turn our back to the very thing that keeps us sane? And more often than not, there isn't even a rational reason behind our choices.

So Why are we so hell-bent on sabotaging ourselves with our own actions or inactions? I mean, hasn't life and fate got that part covered already? It's complicated, I know, but is it really though? From where I see it, it's just about the choices we make. It is a common belief that happiness is a choice and I stand by it. I know how messed up life can get, sometimes even when we're just bystanders, but the fact is, you gotta do what keeps you going or the rabbit hole will suck you right in.

There are moments in our life when it just seems to make no sense. The uncertainty and unfairness of it all just doesn't feel right but that's the test. It is moments like these that really define a person and make them acquainted with the kind of strength they possess. We all have something that makes us feel calm and we usually take it for granted. Think about it; when was the last time you did that One thing that gives you a release and freedom from everything that's wrong and unjust? Or, when was the last time you spoke to that One person who makes you feel that everything's gonna be alright? If you come up with the same answer as I did, you probably won't like it. Now ask yourself; Why? And, most probably, won't like this one either.

My point being, life is crazy and hard and messed up and unpredictable. Make Time for the things and people you love. Everything else can wait if it's costing you your peace of mind and a good night's sleep. Things will get rough, they always do, but then that's what life is all about. Do what makes you happy because, believe it or not, You Have The Power

  1. People generally says that we don't have time to die maybe it's true for few but mostly it's about few seconds of quality time by sacrificing reducing surfing or laziness or things like that.. to get the time for meeting people u love to.. for urself .. be selfish

Protection or Prison

Under the guise of safety  We keep our doors closed Merely imagining the world beyond We accept to be forever entombed What we fail to recognize Is that we are our own prison Limiting our own powers We have given up our own freedom What started as protection Has now become a jail That which we are so afraid to break out of That which has become our excuse to fail   The reality is not what we believe Rather, we can actually take charge Change the direction our destiny takes And break free from the tower so large -Tamrina

Ten Years

There is an interesting thing we all like to do in our life and that is commemorate dates. Whether it is birthdays, anniversaries, he or she day we met someone for the first time but also, the day we lost someone dear to us. On the one end, the remembrance gives us joy and a chance to celebrate and on the other, they are an opportunity to think about that special person, often through teas and wonder, if things could have been different. As humans, it is our nature to assign meaning to things; whether it is the changing of seasons, that breaking of a glass or even, our own suffering. Why do we do that? It is to find some sense of order in this chaos of a world. Similarly, attaching that special meaning to some days gives us a break from the mundane. It allows us to take a breather from everyday routines and shuffle things up a little bit. I once read somewhere that grief is the love we feel for someone once they are gone and maybe this is why we remember them extra on particular da...

We Win Some, We Lose Some and We Snooze Some

A while back, a close friend had told me that my life would always be interesting because I have a passion and a dream to fulfil it, which translates to me always having something to fight for. This statement has stuck with me, especially in my low times because it is very true. When things get tough, I think about the destination I have set for myself and it gives me the strength to overcome the obstacles in my path. Something that I have come to realize very recently though is irrespective of the journey a person chooses to embark in life, there are many battles that each of us has to fight. And despite our best efforts, we win some, we lose some and we snooze some. Now the first two is pretty self-explanatory and the reality of life and circumstances but the third option is what I wish to share with you today. For some people, life is a constant uphill battle; it could be due to a social disadvantage, financial challenges, belonging to a marginalized group, intrapersonal struggles,...
