I'm sure each one of you has come across multiple posts on social media on the lines of
"Nobody told me growing up was a Trap" and the likes. I've been thinking quite a bit on these lines the last few days and I've really come to realise that this perspective is indeed a very interesting one.
All of us are familiar with the story of the forbidden apple and the saying that the grass is always green on the other side of the fence, and I think this also falls under the same umbrella. It is deeply engrained in the human nature to want the things they cannot have and despise those they do. When we were kids, every small thing we did was a task in its own way. I myself remember spending a bunch of sleepless nights, even as child, when I hadn't completed my homework or studied for a test. Isn't that the same thing now?
As we grow, why do we tend to stop looking at the positive side of things and forget to line in the moment instead of worrying and regretting and pining about what we can't control. I mean, now when you think of your childhood, most of the memories you'll conjure would be happy ones. But were those years really all honey and roses? Certainly not. You had your moments of joys and sorrows and desires and losses. And do you remember your biggest wish all those years? It was to Grow Up! And now that you have it, you don't want it. Ah the irony!
My point is, what is the matter with us? Our problems seemed gigantic to us when we were young and now they seem trivial and the same will happen a bunch of years from now. What's different is that, then we didn't know to ponder on them and to drag them around all day every day and now we do. So there you have it. You have issues, I have issues and everyone on this planet has issues. The difference lies in whether you get rid of these issues like filthy tissues or whether you decide to make a foul smelling mountain out of them. The choice is yours.
Har gharhi badal rahi hai roop zindagi
Chhaaon hai kabhi, kabhi hai dhoop zindagi
Har pal yahan, jee bhar jiyo
Jo hai sama, Kal Ho Na Ho
