It's Not About The Language

How often have you been teased and called names for speaking a language you're comfortable with And are confident the other person understands Very well? If you think it's just you or that you're the one at fault, Trust me, you're not the one who's wrong here. It's not about the language. From a very young age, kids are encouraged and often even persuaded to learn different languages. And when those same kids grow up and use their skills in normal interactions, it is termed as Style or Show Off. The level of hypocrisy knows no bounds. A teacher who might use a foreign language to interact with her students in class may discourage the use of that very language in her home for no apperant reason at all. In my opinion, it is not the language which matters but the mentality and attitudes of the people around you. Language has never been and can not be a measure of knowledge or intelligence. Just Say It!!!

Ever wondered how things would be had you told that person how you felt. Ever spent lonely hours thinking about that conversation you couldn't bring yourself to have for fear of a negative response? If yes, believe me you aren't the only one. The worse part about such situations is that there's nothing that can bring you to terms with the reality. And more than often, the unknown hurts more than anything else. You just long for a closure. A final word, a last conversation or even a chance to say what you always wanted to. But the fear is so dominant that it overpowers the urge to make that call or send that message. But trust me when I say this, It's Not Worth It. All the pain, the uncertainty, the silent self-torture, nothing or nobody is worth it. And if it is meant to be, you might even get an answer that you'd always hoped for.
