It's Christmas today and I can't help but revisit the beautiful memories of numerous years of wonderful Christmas celebrations at Sacred Heart School..It's been 3 years since I experienced those lovely festivities and yet the feelings are still as heart warming as ever.
Our Christmas celebrations marked the beginning of our much awaited winter break. The day used to begin with a special Christmas assembly filled with Christmas carols where our respected principal ma'am addressed us and wished us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Then we all would go to our classes where we'd be given the lovely ginger cake after which we'd march to the school ground for the Christmas play.
In the ground, the entire school would sit and watch the alluring play depicting the birth of Jesus Christmas followed by an admirable dance performance of the angels. With that all the students would scatter around the school having a gala time with their friends sharing food and jokes. The school would be filled with delicious smells and the laughter of the children. Several kids could be seen wearing the Santa costumes going about with their friends. The celebrations were always incomplete without the DJ. Every year, our school would set up the music system in the school ground so that everyone could dance their heart out with their friends and celebrate this awesome festival.
Christmas is a festival of sharing joys and happiness and spending time with the people you love. It does not matter if you're 5 or 20 or 50 years old. There's no time or age unfit to have some fun of your own and enjoy your life. Remember life is but a celebration. So I wish you all A Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year. May 2017 be one of the best years of your life.
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
You took me back to my school times ☺
