OK guys! Let's give some exercise to your imagination today. Suppose you are at a party with your family and a bunch of your friends. The dj is playing some real peppy numbers and everyone's dancing to the best. The song being played is something like-
" Teri lai lawa photo tu ruke taan sahi
Purchase vi kariye je vike taan sahi
Tuhanu dassa ki main yaaro, kaliyan da nitt khilna
Jo vi mile chakko kujh fresh nahio milna"
I have asked a couple of my friends why they listen to such stuff and the answer I have got is more than shocking. They say, "This is what is in." Well i can think that the guys enjoy the song though I have no clue as to why that is but You Girls out there? I mean seriously? No! Just stop for a moment and try to comprehend what the lyrics actually mean.
Now hypothetically speaking what would be your reaction if some random roadside romeo sang the same song while you are walking down the street? Obviously you would say that's "Eve Teasing!" You would want to slap the person in the face or create a huge fuss and want a bunch of other people to beat the teaser to a pulp. There you won't enjoy anything but sure as hell feel hurt. Don't you think that's a bit of Hypocrisy on your part?
One last thing, just think about how you feel when you see a 2 year old girl singing and dancing to the tunes of "Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye." Or a 4 year old kid singing "Gandi baat" Yaar have some sort of dignity. I'm not saying that music is bad rather it's the most beautiful thing in this universe but then there ought to be some self respect. Please don't promote songs which present a woman as nothing but an object to be used and also, don't let some illegitimate lyricist ruin the purity and innocence of the beautiful gift of music.
Think!
Hey Tamrina, I totally agree with your point and I have been asking many people about this...and unfortunately responses are always weird....but I am happy at least some people really appreciate good music and not that garbage....I hope time will change and the real spark of music will win the game...
