The End Of An Era

Aane waali subha jaane hogi kitni suhani.
Challenge aise ke saari duniya hogi apni deewani.
Hum..... Rahien ya na rahien yaad aayenge ye pal.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved going to school. She was not someone who made many friends and but the ones she chose were gems and are still her best friends. She was loved by all her teachers who took great care to make sure she was comfortable. She loved her books, her school bag and everything about her school. She had a best friend and they both were practically inseparable. But you know, nothing's permanent, so was the togetherness. Her best friend moved to England and that was when she realised life is not a bed of roses.

With the passage of time, our little girl became a teenager. She started to learn a lot of new things about the world and herself. She still had a very small but great bunch of friends. She loved talking and was often punished for the same in class. Her teachers were nothing less than her friends. Whatever problem she had, she always communicated it to her teachers. The school was like her own territory. Nothing and no one could mess around with her there. She was a strong person but a bit ill tempered and often her peers had to keep up with her moods because they all knew she was just a stupid panda with a lovely heart.

By the time she finished her class 10 exams, she was confused about how she felt. She was obviously happy but also upset because this meant that she would now have to leave her beloved school. She was afraid as she would be leaving all her years old friends, her ultra caring teachers and not to forget every corner and every building of her school where she could go around even with her eyes closed. But as they say, you have to move on because you are not a tree. She started her class 11 in a new school which was honestly nothing close to her liking. It sure took her enough time to settle down and make new friends but then those she found were as crazy as she was. There were several ups and downs in these 2 years - her arguments with some teachers, a broken ankle and what not. But of course "All's well that ends well."

And now my friends its her turn to ride the roller coaster of life. It's that turning point where she is preparing herself to come out from the protective shield and face the insanely unpredictable world. Hope you all will stand by her and anybody else like her all through her journey.

Teri wo raftaar ho, roke se bhi tu na ruke.
Haasil kar aisa shikhar, parvat ki bhi nazarien uthien.
Aashayien khilien dil ki..............

Protection or Prison

Under the guise of safety  We keep our doors closed Merely imagining the world beyond We accept to be forever entombed What we fail to recognize Is that we are our own prison Limiting our own powers We have given up our own freedom What started as protection Has now become a jail That which we are so afraid to break out of That which has become our excuse to fail   The reality is not what we believe Rather, we can actually take charge Change the direction our destiny takes And break free from the tower so large -Tamrina

The Evolving Lyrics of Life

I often say music is the sound of the soul and basically equivalent to oxygen for me. I know it sounds like a cliché but hear me out. All my life, starting from as early as I can remember, music has been my constant companion: in my joys and sorrows, smiles and tears, greetings and losses, it has been an integral part of almost all of my core memories. It inspires me, holds my hand when I am alone and even makes me make sense of my complicated emotions when I am unable to. Something similar happened a couple days ago and I want to talk about it.   Chaahe jo tumhe poore dil se, milta hai wo mushkil se. Aisa jo koi kahin hai, bas wo hi sabse haseen hai. Uss haath ko tum thaam lo, wo meharban kal ho na ho I am sure a majority of you have heard these lines many times and we all have our own interpretations of them, I did too. My understanding of these lines emphasized how we should embrace the love that walks into our lives and hold on to it as it is a rare thing to find but also, we m...

My 2024 Wrapped

I have contemplated writing this post, wondering if I am really in a mood to travel back down the memory lane and explore the year I had. But here I am, reflecting on what all went down in the last year, just as a way for myself to document my journey through the chaos. I started 2024 in a not so good mood, with dealing  emotions that were just too heavy to be explained in words or even understood, from feeling lost and alone to at the same time feeling guilty about letting down the people who cared for me, it was a complicated beginning. Then came a happy moment when I attended my first ever concert, something I desperately wanted to do. On the work front, I continued my MPhil journey, learning things I assumed I wouldn’t be able to do and finding ways to accomplish my goals in ways that were interesting to say the least. Feelings of being overwhelmed and not doing enough for my goals were a near constant, often to the point of being counterproductive. I learn...
