How many times have you seen a person with a physical disability and thought that she/he is less capable than you? Or how often have you thought that you are superior than a specially challenged person just because their weakness is visible to all and yours is not? If you have done this, then I am sorry to say but you are the one I Pity.
Of course, you would ask what's wrong in that. If someone can't walk properly or if a person is not able to see the world in a way that's similar to yours then its natural and genuine to show sympathy towards them. I don't think so. It is completely alright to be concerned but to consider them weak, NO WAY!
No human being is born perfect. Every individual has their own flaws. The only difference is that some people's flaws are visible from the outside while others' surface in a different manner. And in my opinion, having a physical disability is far far more better than having a brainless head and an insensitive heart.
I say this with experience guys, nothing hurts anyone more than your Pity and nothing is more cheering than pure support and encouragement. I don't say that everyone is demotivating. I myself have come across people who have pushed me beyond my own set limits and made me do things I didn't think I was capable of; but I have also met a larger number of people who have just looked at me and said "Mujhe iss ladki pe bada taras aata hai." ( I really Pity this girl) or even "Iska kya hoga ye iss duniya ka saamna kaise karegi?" (What will become of her, how will she face the world?) Dude! You don't know a thing about me. Who the hell are you to say that to me and that too on my face or to my parents who have never made me feel any different from others? I am not asking for you help or even opinion for that matter. Just mind your own bloody business.
So my advice to all those who face such bizarre attitude around themselves on a regular basis is that whenever someone says this sort of crap to you, just say this little prayer in your head, "Oh Lord! Please forgive them. They don't know what they are saying." Trust me, this will give you more peace than any crying or yelling. And to the so-called normal people out there, come out of your bubble and stop behaving like idiots.
