There was a time when people living far away from each other could only communicate through letters. There was no means by which they could see each other or even hear each other's voice. Friends and families longed to hear the voice of their loved ones.
Then with technological advancement, happened the invention of the Telephone. People living in any part of the world could talk to their family and friends anywhere and any time. With the facility of hearing a loved ones' voice, distances began to fade away.People stopped writing letters to each other.
And then came the blessing of the Internet. With internet, we can now send and receive messages instantly from anywhere in the world. The popularisation of social media has further given us platforms to interact with our darlings around the world. But what I have realised recently is that all these scientific developments have somehow reduced the amount of personal and emotional interactions.
It is not the miles separating you which matter, what matters is the distance between your hearts. So, I request all my readers to take out just a couple of minutes from your hectic schedules to call or write just a small letter to someone you love but don't see very often. Not a text message or email, but a call or a hand-written letter. The happiness you'll get after doing so would be priceless. (My personal experience ;). )
